ErikaI climbed up the last set of stairs, my bag cutting into my shoulder like a load of bricks. Thursdays were always the worst – everyone at the office was rushing to get things done and leave themselves free to go home early on Friday, with barely a thought to the lowly assistants, namely myself, who had to fetch records, mail things, and otherwise keep order. A half-hour ride home on a crowded train followed shortly by a hike up four flights of stairs to my apartment didn't help matters, and I was very much looking forward to getting home and not doing anything for a good long while.

That's my actual hair, by the way. I was very happy that the dye turned out okay - coloring it the night before turned into a bit of a meltdown :P
