Yeah, thanks so much for the directions~ And my hair's thick too, (I'm Irish) but I don't have time to braid when I do odangos in summer. And my hair is down to my hips, so I think the weight and hairspray is what holds it together. XD Would you mind if I took your toturial and made one for bun covers with elastic and drawstrings as long as I give you credit? I've wanted to experiment with these things since I started wearing Odango buns but never had the time~
I'm Irish too I used to have hair about as long as yours, but I'm cutting it now because I have to keep it tied back at work and I need it to be manageable
And I don't mind at all if you make another tutorial ^_^ Just link me back, and show me when you're done!
You can size it down if it looks too big to you - I make mine larger so I can pad them a bit and then tie a thicker ribbon around the base. The ones I wear with just my hair under them are usually about 7-8 in., although this measurement also allows for the seams.
Ohmaigawrsh, THANK YOU! I didn't even notice I needed somethign like this for my cosplay until I saw this tutorial then actually LOOKED at the character's bun. You, my friend, are a lifesaver. Will definitely use this in the near or distant future.
